I am sorry for the lack of posts in the past few weeks. The flu has been making its way around the family, on to friends and back once it had morphed enough. So, of course, I am sitting there yesterday feeling sorry for myself when I feel a sudden spark of joy!

Housing Bubble in Plano Texas“What”, you ask? I am holding in my hands an article from the Dallas Morning News business section and the first article I see is titled, “D-FW home prices undervalued?” Isn’t that what I’ve been saying? No, no, gotta have the doom and gloom! That’s what sells papers. I’m starting to wonder what came first? No, not the chicken or the egg, but something similar. Yes there is a recession in some places across the US that also experienced huge price increases. Did all of the negative media cause our local economy to slow and stall? We certainly haven’t seen the problems anyone else has seen but still home buyers are overly cautious. I know local home builders have been sucking wind but then again, it’s about time they priced their homes accurately to match the surrounding areas. It was a needed set back in my analytical mind.

So, back to the story… the subtitle was “Texas markets resisting deep nationwide drops in value, study says”. The article goes on to say that Dallas Fort Worth has one of the most undervalued housing markets in the country. The Texas markets are showing resilience in the face of nationwide home value drops. This report was released by Global Insight.

Dallas homes are 30 percent undervalued making it the second most undervalued in the US. Fort Worth homes are 25 percent undervalued making it the seventh most undervalued in the US.

Here’s a great tip for potential home buyers… NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY! Interest rates are low, home prices are at their lowest and home sellers are eager to sell. If that wasn’t enough, if you buy a home with a Texas Home Central Realtor, we will rebate you $1200. No gimmicks or strings attached. Search for your new home now.
